Roles & Responsibilities

ROLE:

  • Being responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of holistic person centred care.
  • Carries out all relevant forms of care and is designated to take charge regularly of the Home in the absence of who has continuing responsibility. 
  • Responsible  for maintaining and monitoring high quality clinical care for our residents.
  • Expected to supervise junior staff and be able to teach qualified and unqualified staff.
  • Required to take responsibility as the lead care provider for one, or a group of residents in the Home, and work with minimal supervision in the assessment of all relevant care needs.               

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the home manager – deputise in the overall management of the care home as required.
  • Promote business values in day to day practice.
  • Positively influence the reputation of the home – communicating professionally and warmly with visitors including family, friends and other external stakeholders.
  • Play an active role in ensuring compliance within the home – managing the implementation of company policies and regulatory requirements; striving to achieve the best possible care rating and other external recognition of quality.
  • Maintain clinical excellence – role models high standards of  care, ensuring legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines are followed.
  • Take on an active leadership role – you will need to be a visible leader in the home supporting the operation of a twenty four hour Care Home 
  • Developing your staff  – oversee the induction of all new employees and participate in the training development of the team.
  • Assisting Care Home Manager with employee appraisals, supervisions and career pathways.
  • People management – play an active part in the recruitment, assessment and supervision of the team.
  • Support the manager/human resources manager in all aspects of employee relations.
